The work
Restoring the human spirit , and sanity, through design.
My experience totals over 25 years, in both Residential and Commercial Office Interior Design and Construction. I have worked with an amazing array of clients, with loads of personalities and tastes. Connecting to your clients enables you to better connect them to their own spaces. Any project should be lead with human spirit.
Having spent the last 14 years working for a large design/build contractor, I also know how construction works. This design/build process needs a good amount of spirit as well!
The biggest advantage is that the designs are developed from the start, with a keen understanding of the systems and details that need to be considered both inside and outside your walls. My breadth of knowledge in both fields comes together in a cost and time saving way, getting you in your new space more intentionally, with fewer slow-downs during the building process. This combination saves you time and money.

The approach
The skills I provide are extensive, whether it is a whole house or floor remodel, a simple review of existing plans, or product recommendations and material information. Those skills, and the cost associated with them, can be easily adjusted and clarified by breaking them out into two different types of Interior Design services.
Single Point Approach
This approach is great if you need assistance in wrapping your head around an existing space, or new build design. I work with you to provide layout and design options for selection, and generate drawings as needed for communication, pricing and construction. I can also answer questions and address unanticipated construction conditions, once a general contractor is selected.
Second Set Approach
Often, I find myself serving as a second set of eyes, reviewing existing plans that have been generated without specific client needs considered, or knowledge of what’s available and pricing. AI and local cabinet sellers are a good way to explore options but a lack of experience, communication, and detail can cost you a great deal of money and time, as well as satisfaction with your final space.

The options
The following is a ‘laundry list’, with clients being able to select only services they need. The below list also provides clarity, in knowing exactly what you are getting based on your specific needs and budgets:
-
review of existing sketches or layouts
-
space planning and furniture review
-
wall and cabinetry elevations, showing heights and locations of artwork, wall treatment, equipment, lighting and plumbing fixtures, and tile patterning
-
ceiling plans, that show ceiling treatments, lighting and equipment locations and heights
-
switching plans, to clearly communicate to your general contractor, how and where you want lighting, audio visual, speaker and heating and cooling controls
-
color palette and specification development for materials, including paint, flooring, cabinetry, counters, hardware, fixtures, tile and glass
-
furniture expertise to ensure sizing, comfort, durability, texture and color all meet your needs
-
CAD plans to include any or all of the above for use to obtain pricing from vendors and contractors
-
non-structural drawings can be provided for review and contractor submission to local jurisdictions
